Mid Sussex Marlins would like to say a great big THANK YOU to Nigel Firth who has held the position of Chair of the swimming club for the past year, although he has been on the Board and supporting the Club for considerably longer. Nigel took on the role of chair after last year’s AGM as has guided the Club through a further period of change whilst new board members settled in. Supported by Mike Nelson as vice-Chair, Nigel also managed the poolside committee meetings and took a leading role in line management of our employees. However, with new ventures developing Nigel has decided it is time to step down so that he can devote more time to his business and work life and new plans for the future. The Board and members of Marlins would like to wish Nigel all the very best for the future and we hope to see him around the pool still from time to time.
Mike Nelson, as vice-chair, will assume the Chair role until the forthcoming AGM.
We also say goodbye to Michel Nehme, a board member for the past five years. Michel continued to serve on the board and run our monthly payroll long after both his boys had left the Club and has been an ever-present figure in the ‘control room’ running the electronic timing at our home events. Thank you to Michel for many years commitment and dedication to the Club – you will be missed.
We do need some more volunteers to step forward to assist with running the electronics at our home events now the team is without Michel. If you are interested in helping out in the role, have good IT skills and are happy to be present at our home events, please contact email@example.com for more information.
