More Success for Marlins Water Polo girls

More Success for Marlins Water Polo girls in National u18 Tournament

The strength of the club’s junior polo section was underlined when Six Marlins girls  were selected to provide the core of the South East regional team which gained a creditable third place in the National under 18 Inter Regional Tournament which took place at Elstree over the weekend of 26-27 January.

Many congratulations to:

Maddie Calthrop (Goal keeper), Liv Henderson (team Captain), Hannah Goodhead, Lottie Apps, Sophie Cook and one more. The team, coached by Marlins Ewan Partridge, had convincing wins over Scotland, The  East Midlands and the North West before losing narrowly to the West Midlands and the North East. Further, Liv Henderson was voted most valuable player of all the girls taking part in the tournament.

Coach Ewan was delighted with the performance of his young team. Only Liv and Hannah are at the top of this age group so the experience gained by the  younger players  will stand them in good stead for next year.
