Our very own Super Saturday!

Our very own Super Saturday – on Saturday 9th December 2017 Mid Sussex Marlins took 71 swimmers, 5 coaches, 4 poolside helpers, 5 Officials and 1 Social Media Co-ordinator to 2 Gala’s in the South Area of the National Arena League.  Our A team, against some really strong competition, were crowned Division One East Champions and in doing so were promoted to the Premier Division of the National Arena League South. Our B team, in their first ever season in the National Arena League were against some high quality A teams and by winning their final Gala at the K2, finished in a fantastic 7th Place. Congratulations also go out to Crawley Swim Club who were also promoted to the Premier Division.

Throughout the Gala series each and every Marlin has swum their very best for the team and we are really proud of what you have achieved and the way you have represented the Mid Sussex Marlins. The time and hard work you put into your sport is inspiring. I am sure you would like to join me in thanking your coaches, in particular Steve Murphy and Nic Piper for all their brilliant work, support and encouragement. Of course we should also thank all of the Marlins Coaches, Officials, Volunteers, Social Media Co-ordinators, Administrators, Management and our Board for all their hard work and support. Plus a special mention to John and Wendy Boyden who very generously sponsored the team for Round 3 of the National Arena League. Thank you all!!

Now, knowing competitive swimmers and coaches like hard work I have some great news. The training, planning, organisation for NAL18 starts tomorrow 😊. Moving into the Premier Division will be a big step for our A team but you know what, we not only have the talent to compete at this level, we deserve to be at this level! Equally, having secured its place in Division Two East, our B team will be aiming to challenge the top of the table next season.
