Mid Sussex Marlins take the county relay gala trophy for a 4th year in a row.

The club had a full entry of 33 teams to contest the 17 relay races at the 2020 County Championships.
This year Sussex County celebrates its 125th Anniversary and there was a mixed 4 x 50m Medley relay placed into the programme as a special event.  Our team of Sophie Shaw, Mackenzie Cannon, Aidan Cannon and Bethany Abrams took the gold medal in a close race setting a new county best time for the event!
There were also 3 other county relay records broken during the event by Mid Sussex swimmers:
Girls 12/13 year 4 x 50m Medley

Boys Junior 16/u 4 x 50m Medley
(Jacob Golbey, Michael Edward’s, Calvin Fry, Oliver Richardson)
Girls Junior 16/u 4 x 50m Medley
(Issy Steer, Bethany Abrams, Millie Forcier, Rhiannon Evans)
Issy Steer also set an individual county record in the 50m backstroke, breaking team mates Sophie Shaws u14 50m backstroke county record in 30.66.
The team scored 160 points over the course of the day with the next closest team scoring 82 points. The team also included many young swimmers who were racing at this
level of event for the first time gaining valuable experience for the future.
The results showed a great strength in depth at the club and the swimmers showed amazing team spirit and support for each other through the day.
