The Doorstop

The Doorstop Trophy was introduced in 1993 and is awarded to the “Swimmer of the Meet” after each competition where 5 or more Mid Sussex Masters have competed. It is awarded for the best performance in the opinion of the holder who may use whatever criteria he/she wishes.

3rd March 2012 Bracknell Open Meet Rose Dudeney I awarded the trophy to Rose for her excellent swimming at Bracknell where she set two more Club Records in her new age group. It was a hard choice as Dawn Midmer broke a longstanding club record in her new age group, Alison Gwynn won all five of her events, and Mary Johnson won all four of her events!Anthony
28th-29th January2012 South East Region Long Course Championships Anthony Gimson Anthony put in 5 individual swims and a relay, ALL of which were Club records. Okay, he has to create a new line on the Club records sheet for 75-79 age but this in itself is a great achievement. To keep up the training, fitness and desire for so long is admirable. We all expect Anthony to continue for many years to come especially as we now have the “new and improved version”, complete with electrical assistance!Martin
