Another fantastic start to the year with the ever favourite Tom Handley two day meet at the Prince Regent Pool, Brighton.

Mid Sussex Marlins showed their presence again with 25 swimmers over the weekend gaining some last minute County Qualifying Times (CQT),  Regional Qualifying Times (RQT),  National Qualifying Times (NQT), trophy winners and some great Personal Best times (PB’s).

Saturday was a great start, with a notable swim by Ollie Mayhew who aged 10 was full of attack on his 200m backstroke. Not only did he achieve a 7 sec PB, he was 10 seconds inside the CQT. Other CQT’s were achieved by Issy Watson in 200m backstroke, Holly James 100m backstroke, Sophy Croydon-Kempster 200m Back, Naomi Shaw 100m freestyle and Neave Scott 50m freestyle & 200m freestyle.

RQT’s were achieved by Claire Shaw 100m Freestyle, Ryan Dooley 200m Breastroke  & 100m Breastroke, Emma Shilton 100m Breastroke and Ollie Goodhew kept up his fine form by not only achieving two RQT in 100m Freestyle & 200m IM but gained two NQT in 100m Backstroke and 200m Backstroke.

Trophy winners were Emma Shilton, Guy Cooper, Sophy Croydon-Kempster, Ryan Dooley, Claire Shaw and Ollie Goodhew.

Noteable PB’s were achieved by Sophy Croydon-Kempster, Ryan Dooley, Ollie Mayhew and Emma Shilton.
