In September our para-swim Dolphins group celebrated their 20th Anniversary and their lead, Pauline Draper, asked one of her long term swimmers to write a short article on Dolphins….
Rachel has swum with Dolphins since it’s inception.
“When Dolphins started on a Wednesday evening in September 20 years ago I was there in the water splashing around with Pauline. I could not swim at all and had to be held all the time. I have progressed over the years from using a floatation jacket, to just using a woggle swimming on my front, and now swimming on my back totally unaided. Pauline’s dedication to our disabled swimming group has helped so many young people to become good confident swimmers. I have made many friends (both swimmers and volunteer helpers) who have come and gone over the past 20 years, but I’m still there! Enjoying every minute!”
What a fantastic commentary on the achievements of the group over the past 20 years!
